KOLDBORN

KOLDBORN

KOLDBORN was formed in 1997 from the ashes of Icon Of Sin by drummer Rasmus and axeman Heinz with the intention of playing brutal music with a groove. After finishing the lineup, they recorded the 1999 demo “Blessed By Beyond” which lead to a contract with Danish legendary label Diehard Music. The debut album entitled “First Enslavement” was recorded in their own studio with producer Jacob Bredahl (Hatesphere, Leng T´che, Machinemade God etc.).

The album received overwhelming reviews for its musical diversity and brutal groove with a Scandinavian touch of melody. After releasing this album axeman Heinz was recruited by fellow Danish thrashers Hatesphere to fill in the spot as lead guitarist.

In 2004 Koldborn once again released musical fury in the shape of “The Devil Of All Deals EP”. This EP introduced new vocalist Lars who took everyone by surprise with his powerful voice and sense for catchy hook lines. Right after the release of this EP, the band started working on their next full-length CD “The Uncanny Valley” which showed a direct evolution from “The Devil…EP”.

Sadly, this was the last sign of life of the Danish band, who disbanded a few years after, with its core members currently playing in Blood Eagle or Black Swamp Water.

Last line-up:
Mikael Ehlert Hansen: bass
Kim Jensen: drums
Henrik “Heinz” Jacobsen: guitars

DETEST

DETEST

It all began in 1990 and the following year, when “Deathbreed”, the demo tape, saw the light of day. When Detest recorded it, theowner of the studio did not understand their music at all, so the band produced and mixed it by themselves. It got a really good reception and Detest got a gig at Roskilde Festival as the first Danish death metal band on the next biggest stage. In the fall of 1993, it was a dance in the studio again and “Dorval”, released by Progress Red Labels, was recorded and it got even more publicity.

After the release of this acclaimed-by-reviews album, things went really well for the Danish band, with lots of concerts and everything went as it should, until they eventually got way too much of everything that was wrong, namely booze and drugs. The members suddenly got very different ambitions and there were a lot of fights about how the music should sound, so in 1996 the party ended and Detest split up.

In 2014, Detest reunited to some concerts and it went well, but the other band members didn’t want it to happen as much as guitarist John Petersen. So the following years were spent on recruiting and testing new members who could conduct and pass on Detest in the right way. As a result of that work, 2018 was a more hard hitting and focused Detest year than ever before, as John did neither drink nor take drugs anymore.

Then in 2019 the EP “A Moment Of Love” came out and it was very well received by the Danish metal press. At that time, John got really much blood on the tooth and had lots of firewood so the fire could burn with really big flames. Finally, in 2021, Detest got on track for an album No. two at last. “We Will Get What We Deserve” was released in December 2021.

At the end of 2024, Detest returned stronger than ever with their new release “A World Drowning in Detest”, a relentless assault that pushes the boundaries of death metal. This album marks a new era for the band, as they channel raw aggression, seasoned craftsmanship, and a renewed love for their craft into every note. On this record, the Danes are marching forward with a newfound sense of purpose and determination, leaving no stone unturned in their quest to find all in the extreme metal landscape.

“A World Drowning In Detest” is out now on LP (black vinyl limited to 300), CD and digital via Emanzipation Productions.

ARSENIC ADDICT

ARSENIC ADDICT

Arsenic Addict is a murderous death metal band from Odense, Denmark, inspired by the darkest insanity lurking in the minds of man. Fleshy riffs invite to bloodshed and thunderous blastbeats explode frail skulls while ominous melodic passages tighten the grip around the neck and won’t let go before it’s too late. The gory tales of molestation and decaying corpses delivered in aggressive growl complete the soundtrack for your next killing.

Arsenic Addict is a solid live-act and was selected for the Wacken Metal Battle Denmark 2019. Their full-length debut album “Deviant Perception of Death” was mixed by Lasse Ballade from Ballade Studios and released last year.

Line-up:
