Formed in 2019, Furnace emerged from the shared vision of Rogga Johansson (Paganizer, Demiurg, The Grotesquery) and Peter Svensson (Assassin’s Blade, Void Moon), driven by a mutual passion for dark, horror-fantasy storytelling and classic concept albums. Musically, Furnace stands firmly in the tradition of melodic death metal, channeling the progressive intensity of Edge of Sanity while weaving in the somber, gothic atmosphere associated with Paradise Lost.
Over the years, Furnace has built an extensive and ambitious discography, including “Black Stone Church” (2020), “Dark Vistas” (2020), “Stellarum” (2022), the expansive triple album “The Casca Trilogy” (2023), “Trojan Hearse” (2024), and “Eternally Enthroned” (2025). Their next release, out soon on Emanzipation, marks the band’s seventh full-length album and continues their unwavering commitment to narrative-driven metal.
